About KC Kuan

I’m a medical doctor, father, martial artist, and (somewhat accidentally) an author.

Black Belt Beginnings

As a kid, I dreamed of being a stuntman. I earned black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Judo, choreographed fight scenes in my head to epic soundtracks, and performed martial arts demonstrations for thousands of people.

Even now, I still train regularly in Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—my way of keeping the body sharp and the creative sparks flying.

A Serious Turn

Life took a serious turn when I went to medical school. I fell in love with science and the privilege of helping people through medicine.

But the part of me that stages imaginary battles never went quiet. For years it simmered—until my wife pointed out that the wild stories I told our family at the dinner table probably belonged on the page.

So I Started Writing

My debut novel, Blood Memories, is the result: an urban-fantasy thriller about a vampire driven by revenge who discovers the world—and his own past—isn’t what he thought.

I poured everything I love into it—high-stakes action that feels like a choreographed fight, grounded science woven with magic, and characters who surprise you when they surprise themselves.

Hooked on Storytelling

Once I finished that first book, I was hooked. Writing became the perfect outlet for the same creative energy I once channeled into flying kicks and fight choreography—except now the battles play out in readers’ imaginations.

My promise is simple: from page one, you’re on a roller-coaster. Visceral action, intricate worlds, and characters worth rooting for—that’s what I deliver, every time.

Come Along for the Ride

I never planned on becoming an author, but I’ve never been happier sharing these stories with the world. If you enjoy fast-paced urban fantasy and science fiction with pulse pounding action, stick around.
